Trevor McBurney LLB (Hons)

Trevor graduated from the Law faculty at Queens University Belfast, with honours in 1989. He then achieved the Post-graduate Certificate of Professional Legal Studies in 1991 and was immediately enrolled as a Solicitor with the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

Having carried out a pupilage with Fryar and Gordon Solicitors, Banbridge, (subsequently McBurney & Co), he continued to work in that firm, as a fully qualified solicitor, and then as a partner from 1996 on. Thus in over 25 years, as a solicitor and partner,he has acquired a wide and varied range of legal experience and expertise.

Following the dissolution, by agreement, of the former partnership of McBurney & Co (in May 2013) Trevor immediately established Trevor McBurney & Co Solicitors to continue to provide experienced legal advice and action for his clients, existing and new, from Banbridge, Newcastle, Kilkeel and further afield.

Trevor has since 2010 been the Honorary Consul for Spain in Northern Ireland. As an Honorary Consul he is also an active member of the increasingly influential Consular Association of Northern Ireland.

Alison Anderson LLB (Hons)

Alison has worked alongside Trevor as a legally qualified assistant for many years. In May 2012, she graduated with a 2:1 degree in law (LL.B Hons) from the Open University. She had previously completed the Legal Studies for Legal Assistants Course at Queen’s University,Belfast. She also holds a Diploma in English Laws from the Open University.

Paula Morrow LLB (Hons)
Paula graduated from the University of Ulster with a 2:1 degree in Law and Goverments (LL.B Hons) in 2006. Paula then commenced her Apprenticeship with Trevor McBurney acting as her Master in McBurney and Company and in 2010 graduated from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Queens University Belfast with Merit.
As a fully qualified Solicitor since 2010, Paula has gained extensive experience in advising clients on all Private Client matters including Wills, Trusts and Administration of Estates, Contentious Probate matters, Inheritance Tax Advice, advising and applying for Controllership Applications in the Office of Care and Protection, Enduring Powers of Attorney and advising on all aspects of lifetime planning to include provisions for Nursing Home Care. Paula has written a number of legal articles, specifically addressing Wills, Lifetime Planning and Enduring Powers of Attorney, some of which have been published by the Belfast Telegraph entitled “Giving Family peace of mind if Dementia should strike” published 8th September 2015 and “Why you can bet the farm on Trusts and Wills” published 20th October 2015.
Paula has also presented at a number of public events speaking about the legal advantages of Enduring Powers of Attorney, particularly at the Carer Information Programmes for the Alzheimer’s Society.
In 2015 Paula commenced the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Diploma in Trusts and Estates (Northern Ireland) and to date has completed the Administration of Estate and Administration of Trusts module.
