Trevor graduated from the Law faculty at Queens University Belfast, with honours in 1989. He then achieved the Post-graduate Certificate of Professional Legal Studies in 1991 and was immediately enrolled as a Solicitor with the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
Having carried out a pupilage with Fryar and Gordon Solicitors, Banbridge, (subsequently McBurney & Co), he continued to work in that firm, as a fully qualified solicitor, and then as a partner from 1996 on. Thus in over 25 years, as a solicitor and partner,he has acquired a wide and varied range of legal experience and expertise.
Following the dissolution, by agreement, of the former partnership of McBurney & Co (in May 2013) Trevor immediately established Trevor McBurney & Co Solicitors to continue to provide experienced legal advice and action for his clients, existing and new, from Banbridge, Newcastle, Kilkeel and further afield.
Trevor has since 2010 been the Honorary Consul for Spain in Northern Ireland. As an Honorary Consul he is also an active member of the increasingly influential Consular Association of Northern Ireland.
